French Toast
Pain Dore
Perfect way to start the day
We LOVE French toast. They are so easy to make & can give a second life to the not so fresh bread. I often make it for their school lunch; I simply make it in the morning and transfer it in a thermos. Such a treat!
Ingredients
3 eggs
1/4 cup of brown sugar
1 1/2 cup of milk
1 tsp of vanilla
1/4 tsp of cinnamon
Pinch of salt
8 slices of bread
1/4 cup of butter (60ml)
Maple syrup
Steps
• Using a square bottom container, mix the eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla & sugar until well combined. No need to use many dishes, you’ll soak you’re bread in this one so make sure it has enough space to receive the bread.
• In a big skillet, over medium heat, melt the butter. Make sure it is evenly spread across the pan.
• Work in batches, dip 1 slice of bread into the egg mixture, let it soak 2 seconds per side, then place in the hot skillet. Cook for about 2 minutes per side, until golden brown. Repeat with remaining slices. Serve hot with maple syrup & fresh fruits.
